One cannot think well, love well, or sleep well if one has not eaten well. -Virginia Woolf
Nothing is perhaps easier to make than tapenade. You take olives and mash them up or in this case I blended them in the Vitamix. One of our favorite things to eat in France – olive tapenade – which was also invented in Provence. No surprise since olive groves and trees blanket the Mediterranean. It can be a starter, accompany a great pasta dish, or is so filling I like to have it as the main course too. I found a new olive oil from @forthehealthofit30a I decided to use it too.
Olive Tapenade
1/3 cup black olives
1/3 cup kalamata olives
Pinch of pepper
5-10 basil leaves
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Optional:
1 Tbsp capers
Directions:
Combine ingredients in Vitamix pulse on 2 until desired texture. Serve with toasted baguette or other bread.
